When the popular photo app, Instagram was finally released for Android, iPhone users were up in arms ready to wag war for territory on it’s once exclusive picture community. Phil Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of marketing was also not too happy about the release of Instagram on Android, going as far as deleting his Instagram account.
When Schiller was asked about the release of Instagram for Android, he said
“It ‘jumped the shark’ when it went Android.”
After detailed research, the quote in a nutshell means that something has begun to decline and is beyond recovery. As a fan of all things smartphone it is quite ridiculous to think that people can get so upset over an app being brought to Android. At the end of the day, none of us are getting paid by Apple, Google, nor Instagram so why be upset about it?
What do you think? Did Schiller over react? Or do you think his actions were valid? Let us know in the comments after the break.
